We do our part to keep a lot of those jobs here in Omaha & the Midwest area! Our Cabinets come from Fox right here in town. Our framed walls from Builders Supply. Our Gerkin Vinyl Windows are made in Sioux City, NE. The Pella windows and our GE appliances are produced in Iowa. So on behalf of myself and the rest of our employees and the thousands of others thanks for keeping us working!

The Marines have a drop box at my office, so please feel free to drop off an unwrapped toy at the Quail Hollow Office anytime Saturday to Wednesday from 12-5:30.

Hot Trends in New Home Building!

Some of the biggest news is the new home industry is based on homes plans becoming smaller but having more features! Many of our new 2010 Regency Home Plans reflect this trend.

Almost all of our new homes have kitchens that feature walk-in pantries, granite counters and birch cabinets. Master bedrooms will fit king-size beds on two walls, and have larger walk-in closets! Master baths have options such as walk-in showers. Drop zones off the garage entry are very popular, too. Garage options include a 3-car option or an added storage area on the side or in the back!

Most of our buyers today like having the entertainment areas wired for the internet. (No WIFI needed!) Our exteriors have low-maintenance siding options and no-maintenance vinyl windows with new low E3 glass. All of our furnaces are now at least 93% efficient.

Wiring Your New Home For The Future.

With the Internet’s ever-increasing presence in our daily lives, many of our clients ask about wiring for a Home Network when building their new home. This inexpensive option allows you to have a hardwire connection to plug in internet connected devices such as a DVD Player, Xbox, Playstation 3 or home computer. With a permanent connection to the internet, your electronic devices are able to get updates & software, without the hassle of additional equipment or Wi-Fi adapters that are subject to interference and lag times.

We can run the network wiring called CAT-5e from wherever your home’s cable router is located (i.e the office) to any other locations you would like to have a hook-up to the Internet (i.e the flat-screen TV in the family room or in the Master Bedroom). This would enable you to surf the ‘Net or download movies from Netflix right from the comfort of your living room.

Nice Weather and New Home Buyers Return

Well the snow is gone and the home buyers are back. We have experienced above normal model home traffic in the last few weeks since the weather has improved. In the last 10 days we have sold three properties and each day we are getting more inquiries about our 26 remaining federal tax credit eligible inventory homes. People have realized that the April 30th deadline for the $8000/$6500 tax credit is near. Things are starting to pop!

More meetings for the construction of "build jobs" are being set up. These people want their new home their way even though they may not be able to take advantage of the tax credit. They know that inflation may drive up the cost of their new home so they are acting now to be able to take advantage of low mortgage rates and low construction and lot costs.

The "Crescent" Model Grand Opening

We had our kickoff open house last weekend for our new "Crescent" model home in Quail Hollow. We had a larger turnout than expected because of the interest created through our advertising that showed interior photos of this dymanic plan. Everone that saw the new plan really liked it. The high ceilings and open concept "lifestyle triange" design of the home made the 1572 sf plan feel like it was 1900 sf. Most of the pepole that I talked to said that the house felt warm and "like home" as soon as they walked in the door. Thanks to all who came out.

Why choose a Regency home? Well, our experience for one thing. We've been leading the way in quality home building in Omaha for decades!

Regency Homes started operation in 1960 by being the first Omaha homebuilder to use component type construction techniques (walls & roof systems are built in a factory environment). During this era, we focused on developing the systems and processes that would later set the standard for cost effective and efficient construction processes.

In the early 70’s until the mid 80’s, Regency specialized in conventionally built new homes for first time homeowners, and often held the title of "Nebraska’s Largest Homebuilder". In those years, thousands of homes were built in communities that we developed in the Southwestern part of Omaha. In the mid 80’s, Regency began building homes also for second time homeowners. Many of our first time homeowners now live in their second Regency Home!

In the mid 90’s, Regency Homes designed and developed Walnut Lake, one of Omaha’s only gated Villa communities. We also made the move into the luxury home market with the introduction of Omaha’s first "Courtyard Homes".

Today, Regency builds homes priced from the mid $150’s to the low $700’s - meeting the needs of all kinds of homeowners. We have our own in-house design team, as well as a land planner and developer, and a Real Estate entity.

Our experienced Regency team understands the entire new home process, and we strive to build quality homes in a family friendly communities that will stand the test of time. 	Walter Fredrickson Walter became a New Home Consultant for Regency in 2006. 	Sally Hoffman It begins with a dream. Whether that dream brings bliss or turns into a nightmare depends upon the choices you make early in the process. Having a knowledgeable New Construction Specialist representing you will save you time, money and effort. Sally understands the home building process. And though not difficult, the journey can be fraught with frustration and confusion. Knowing the ins and outs of home construction can lead you away from common pitfalls and provide an exciting and enjoyable experience. 	Bill P. Bill joined Regency Homes in March, 1977 managing Regency's lumber division. From there he worked as a quality control specialist and climbed the corporate ladder to his position today as construction manager. He now directs the field operations of the entire business.
	Pat M. Pat has been with Regency Homes since 2001 as a Personal Builder. He, also, helps with warranty when needed. Pat started framing houses in 1978, and by 1984 he was self-employed as a framer and home remodeler. Pat has 30 years experience in the homebuilding field.
	Steve A. Steve joined the Regency team in 1990. He has worked as a general laborer, was a Quality Control Field Technician, supervised warranty and now is a Personal Builder for Regency. Before joining the Regency team, he worked in roof-floor truss construction. Steve has 20 years of home-building related-work.
	Jeff P. Jeff has worked for Regency since 1997. He has multiple duties including Quality Control Field Technician and Warranty. He has 14 years experience of home-building related-work. He, also, is retired from 20 years in the United States Marine Corp. Jeff has 2 years of college in the mechanical technology field.
	Geoff B. Geoff has been with Regency Homes since 1998. He has worked in about every phase of new home construction. He works as a Quality Control Field Technician, does warranty work and general labor that is required to keep up the job sites.
	Brian S. Brian started with Regency in 2002 as a Quality Control Field Technician. He has 14 years experience of home-building/construction industry, which includes faming, siding, and building decks. Brian is a certified welder and a heavy equipment operator. He also, does civil service work at Stratcom / Offut Air Force Base.
	Joyce P. Joyce has been a faithful employee of Regency Homes since 1983. Starting out as a receptionist in the Accounts Payable department, she changed directions and worked her way up to Customer Service Manager. She has a business school education. Before joining the Regency team, she worked for Union Pacific Railroad for eight years and owned a retail business for a year and a half.
	Mary G. Mary is a jack of all trades at Regency Homes. Having joined Regency in the accounting department in 1983, she does it all: assists with Human Resources, purchases lots and balances closings. Prior to working for Regency, she did payroll and job costing for a heavy highway construction company. Going farther back, she did pay roll and was an accountant for an actuarial firm. She was also an internal accountant for a CPA firm and a bookkeeper for a lumber company.
	Steve J. Steve earned his Bachelors of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Nebraska. For 11 and half years, he did drafting, design, technical support and estimating for Design Basics, Inc. He was a Field Superintendent for one year at Construct Inc. In 1996, he became the Estimator-Purchasing Manager for Regency Homes.
	Karen S.B. Karen has been Regency Homes since 1997. She received her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1991. She's been a part of the home building/construction industry since 1992.
	Candra D. Candra has worked in the Design/Drafting department of Regency Homes since 2003. She earned her Associates degree in Applied Science in Architectural Technology in 1998. She worked for an architect for 3 years, and then worked for a residential design firm for 2 and half years before becoming part of the Regency team.
	Denny V. Denny started as a trim carpenter in 1969 and worked his way up through the Regency Homes operation as a Draftsman/Designer, Superintendent, Customer Service Representative, Estimator, Project Manager, General Manager and now serves as the Vice President. He is the Designated Real Estate Broker for the company. He is active in the Metropolitan Omaha Homebuilders Association as well as the State of Nebraska Homebuilders Association and the National Association of Homebuilders. He has been voted Omaha Builder of the Year, State of Nebraska Builder of the Year, Developer of the Year and Best Marketing Director. He has a Bachelor of Construction Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is has attained the distinction of becoming a CSP (Certified Sales Professional) and has been certified to teach the CSP courses by the National Association of Homebuilders.

Snow in Attics in Omaha

Be sure to check the attic space in your home. Because of the blowing snow conditions of the last few weeks, several homeowners have had snow blowing into their attic spaces through their roof ventaliation systems. If you find snow, be sure to remove it before it melts on our next warm day (that is if we ever get one).
